Short for Toronto Pixels, TOPIX was founded in 1987 by Chris Wallace. Sylvain Taillon joined Wallace as a partner in 1995, helping TOPIX grow into one of the biggest and most trusted companies in Canada. To meet the growing demand for their visual effects services, TOPIX established the feature film visual effects and animation powerhouse Mr. X in 2000. They expanded again in 2008, founding boutique design and visual effects studio Tantrum.
